THE MUSIC
A few examples from an ever increasing repertoire of our favourite ‘Pop Rock’ classics and some ‘one hit’ wonders:-
60’s - There’s so many Beatles songs to choose from but ‘Lady Madonna’ may compete with ‘Eleanor Rigby’ or perhaps ‘I saw her standing there’. We ‘Can’t Explain’ ... ‘Substitute’ from our personal favourites the Who and the Animals sang ‘We got to get out of this place’?
70’s - Quite a mixture of styles in this decade from Cockney Rebel to the Buzzcocks. Kiki Dee sang ‘I got the music in me’ but who remembers the Undertones and the Cars ‘Best friends Girl’? Maybe a song from the Police or join in with ‘I fought the law!’ from the Clash.
80’s - This decade doesn’t pass us by even though it was awash with ‘Synthesiser bands’. Tears for Fears had a ‘Shout’ about a ‘Mad World’ but perhaps they’d never chilled out with Martha & Muffins on ‘Echo Beach’. Depeche Mode say ‘I just can’t get enough’ whilst Soft Cell had ‘Tainted Love’. However ZZ Top saw a ‘Sharp dressed Man’ saying ‘Gimme all your lovin’.
90’s - We might ‘Roll with It’ by Oasis but do you remember when Blink 182 gave us ‘All the small Things’?
00’s - Amy Winehouse covered the Zuton’s ‘Valerie’ whilst The Kaiser Chiefs ‘Predict a Riot’. The Stereophonics reminisce about ‘Dakota’ but the Killers just want to be ‘Human’.
